Black Sheep Performance was built from a desire to help people become the best versions of themselves. Owner, Pat Coyne, started training clients in 2015. After living in Colorado and Florida to refine his skills, Coyne decided to return to Cincinnati, Ohio where he was raised to start Black Sheep Performance. He began training clients on the half court on the side of his parents house with a few dumbbells and bands. While he trained a few clients there, it quickly became clear that he needed a bigger space with equipment and a turf area. Over the span of a few years, he organically outgrew 3 shared facilities, trained hundreds of athletes (most of whom were sent D1 and given full ride scholarships), and helped countless adults move better than they ever have. Coyne’s willingness to train in any facility combined with the thousands of training hours he put in on the floor gave him the ability to develop a method and training style that is unique and effective. In 2020, we took the leap and customized the Black Sheep Performance flagship location that you see on Kenwood Road today.
Black Sheep is the only training facility in Cincinnati that combines strength, acceleration, deceleration, plyometrics, proprioception, multi-directional movement, and maximum velocity into programs everyday. Programming is done on a daily basis to insure students are receiving the most competitive and elite training. Because it is not a franchise, it is simple for our trainers to customize programs based on the skill and age level of students in any given session. Not only that, but each athlete is also training with up to 16 others, which breeds competitiveness, teamwork, and socialization.
